Great cover today in the Cairngorms. Though, still being only early Feb, its still pretty icy, thin or crusty in many places. This view is looking down todays descent to Coire Raibiert. According to SAIS, the loaded aspect – the snow was certainly soft and deep, but icy crust on top. Keep it fast to make the most of it! Complete cover out to Ben Macdui in the distance.
Above is view looking eastish into Ciste Mhearad. Again, some of the better cover, but on a southerly slope, still a bit chossy. Coronation Wall had some nice soft ribbons, on the way down (though the Cas Headwall still looked a little loaded and steep).
