Overview
If you are looking for off piste (or ‘sidecountry’) ski lessons in Scotland, then the Off Piste Improver day might be just what you’re looking for.
For many skiers, making the transition from piste to off-piste can make you feel like a beginner again. Especially in variable Scottish snow and with a rucksack! On this course, we will work together to identify skills that you want to focus on and aim to give you solid input and feedback to help build your confidence for skiing backcountry.
Buying a lift ticket is often the best way to ensure plenty of practise and learning – this course is focused on the descents, after all! There are various aspects we could focus on, for example pressure control, posture and pole planting, to name a few. During the day, we may well use video to analyse performance and try various exercises to improve your technique.
For ski lessons off piste we may carry lightweight avalanche safety kit in rucksacks. Basic training for these will be given if needed. You just need to supply energy, a willingness to learn and a sense of humour! Get in touch to discuss options.
