Overview
Discover the wilder side of Scotland on a tailor-made kayak tour.
These journeys feature some of Scotland’s best coastal and freshwater scenery, and a little previous paddling experience is recommended. Because safety is so important to us, the precise location and route depends on the weather on the day, but there are many convenient locations to choose from. Drawing on our long expertise of guiding in the Highlands of Scotland, our kayak tour venues all showcase great landscape, history and nature.
- Modern touring / sea kayaks and safety equipment provided

Modern single person plastic touring kayaks provide great storage and weather protection during our Scotland kayak tours. Paddlers sit in not on these boats, so wear a spraydeck (or ‘spray skirt’) for maximum safety and comfort. Up to 17ft (5 m) long, these vessels feature waterproof storage compartments and a comfortable seat. You won’t need a rudder as you learn to steer them, because you’ll get helpful tips en route.
Are these Scotland kayak tours suitable for families? Yes, as long as the younger participants are confident in the water and aged 16 or over (this is to allow for larger sized single touring kayaks). Younger families should instead check out our Canoe Safari. For destinations apart from those mentioned, please contact us.
