Overview
Mountain biking up and down Cairn Gorm is a big day, on one of the highest peaks in the Cairngorms National Park. So you’ll need a healthy dose of skills and fitness, plus a decent bike that can cope with some punishment.
After a thorough group check, we begin riding from the ski area carpark at 640m. There are several options for mountain biking on Cairngorm, and pushing may be needed! We will be on vehicle tracks, mountain trails and rocky terrain and we’ll hope to bag the 1245m summit if possible. But if the weather isn’t playing ball, we will stay low and ride round into spectacular Coire an t-Sneachda.
- Start high at the ski area carpark
- High mountain scenery and weather
- Flexible day with long descents
- Local hire, eBikes by arrangement
- Alternative routes available on other Cairngorms summits
While we’re biking on Cairngorm we will need to be careful of walkers and protected mountain wildlife. Your experienced and qualified guide carries basic group kit and repair items. However, I recommend you bring basic spares for your own bike. Please note: the mountain railway is NOT an option for this day. This day does NOT include the purpose-built mountain biking trails on Cairn Gorm (extra fee required, please enquire).
