Overview
Unlock new mountain biking skills with a personalised lesson or course in the Highlands of Scotland! With some of the best natural singletrack in Britain, the Cairngorms National Park is a venue that works for all levels of rider.
Although our experience and fitness may increase as we ride, our skill level doesn’t always develop the way we hope. We almost always develop ‘bad’ habits, mental blocks or plateaus in our riding – often without knowing. Therefore, you might need feedback from a good coach to unlock your progress.
- Coaching and activities tailored to the rider
- One-to-one feedback that you can work on
- Video analysis
- Receive lesson photos and videos
- MBL and BC Coach (Offroad)
- Child friendly (with parent/guardian
- Blocks of 5 x 2 hour lessons (Flexible dates, choose first lesson date on calendar above)
I mainly deliver these 1-day mountain bike courses and lessons in the Cairngorms – one of the best riding areas in Scotland. I specialise in individuals and small groups because this makes it much easier to chat, discuss ideas and find the right level of challenge.
Our Scotland-based lessons and courses feature popular ‘core’ mountain bike skills such as cornering, small dropoffs, climbing, pumping and braking. We practise skills on various trails, sometimes riding multiple laps. If needed, We group riders by their ability, fitness and goals. And if you’re a parent and child, or a family group, then we can make that work too!

Louise Coleby –
Malcolm listened to what we needsd from the mountain bike coaching and he planned very well to coach each skill. The venue was well consideredHis coaching style was responsive to our skill level, need, confidence and aims. He was considerate and thourough. We learned a lot and felt we were in safe hands all day. Thank you Malcolm, you made the day a very unique and special birthday treat your for our daughter. She’ll be safer on the runs now.
Emma Wood –
Had a great day out with Malcolm. He worked really well with me and my friend and despite our different bike riding abilities we both learned a lot and had fun! Malcom was diligent with planning too, setting up a call beforehand to talk about our goals and experience.
