Overview
The Scotland Bird Watching Tour is a 3 day guided bird watching trip, focussed on some of the best birding spots in the Highlands of Scotland. During our time together we can explore mountains, forest, coastline and valley sites in search of great species. Highlights of this trip include:
- speciality Scottish bird species, for example crested tit and golden eagle.
- variety of habitats within the Highlands of Scotland
- field ID books to hand
- high quality birding scope available for guest use
- privately guided bird watching tour tailored to your interests
- fully-qualified mountain leader including first aid
And if your interests stretch to wildlife other than birds, we can do that too. With expertise in mammals, wildflowers, invertebrates, etc this tour can involve much more than just birdwatching. And rest assured, we always adhere to the principles of minimum impact and responsible wildlife watching. Please note, capercaillie is not a target species on this tour, see LekItBe for details.
Your guide can draw on many years of outdoor leading experience to help create a safe and enjoyable tour – whether thats dawn-to-dusk on foot, or birding from the comfort of a vehicle. Plus, we have the flexibility to adapt the itinerary of our bird watching tours based on sightings and Scotland’s ever-changing weather!

What a great day, thanks Malcolm 🙂 🙂

Malc is a great guide, professional, hard working, enjoyable to be with and dedicated to ensuring your time with him ‘ticks all your boxes’. No hesitation in recommending him to anyone looking for a one to one highland guiding experience. I asked him to show me the ‘soul of the highlands’, places where, with a little bit of effort, I could experience nature and the wild spirit of the highlands. He delivered in spades :-).

We booked three consecutive days of wildlife watching & walking at the end of September and had a brilliant time. Malc is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the local flora & fauna – his banta is also second to none! The wildlife was wonderful and we had some great walking thanks to Malc’s careful planning to dodge the rain! We enjoyed the trip so much that we are planning to book another one as soon as we can!

A lovely day with exciting sightings – especially the osprey and the dolphins. So pleased you mentioned the ‘lovely couple’ – pity about the guide!!!! Seriously, he is one of the best guides I’ve ever had – unbelievable ear and ID skills.
