As September gives way to October here in Scotland, we get cooler, shorter days and great autumn tree colours. Hiking and biking on the hill may get you spectacular inversion conditions. Autumn wildlife is well on the move, with winter visitors arriving and resident young birds finding their way. Preparations are beginning for the ski season, while the last few weeks of warmer paddling weather are to be enjoyed. Come November, temperatures will certainly begin to dip!
