Certain health issues in guests medical history should be disclosed at booking, to help promote safety during the activity.
If any of these apply to you, please mention them when booking or planning outdoor activities:
- Recent infectious illnesses
- Mental issues (eg: anxiety, learning difficulty)
- Old injuries
- Recent operations
- Recent surgical procedures
- Chronic illnesses (eg: diabetes, arthritis, asthma, heart conditions, epilepsy)
- Current medication
- Pregnancy
- Allergies
- Disabilities
- Fitness level

Your medical history refers to illnesses, injuries, disabilities, allergies, etc. See the NHS Conditions A-Z for more information.
Serious chronic conditions should be mentioned, especially those which affect your day-to-day living. Also, regular medication should be noted. Always seek expert advice from your medical practitioner.
Firstly, your physical activity may be more intense or different than usual. Secondly, medical help, transport and shelter may not be easily available. Thirdly, knowing medical history helps activity providers and emergency services. Fourth, the outdoor environment is unpredictable, so extra precautions are worthwhile.
We will always do our best to accomodate varying abilities/medical issues. If we discuss your medical history and Ability level, together, we can come up with a plan for the trip.
Any medical information you submit must be kept confidential by law. It will only be made available to staff and personnel with a reasonable need to see it (eg: instructor, emergency personnel).
Emergency rescue and medical care is ‘free at the point of need’ via the NHS in Britain. Travel insurance is not required, but strongly recommended.
