Overview
The Cairngorms Wildlife Tour is a 2 day guided birding trip, based in the northern Cairngorms National Park. This region is famous for ancient Scots pine forest, high mountain plateaus and peaceful lochs and rivers. And not only that, but many of Britain’s rarest wildlife species too. Please note, capercaillie is not a target species on this tour, see LekItBe for details.
Highlights of this birding tour of the Cairngorms include:
- Rare species such as crested tit, golden eagle and more.
- Special wildflowers and spectacular scenery
- One-to-one private tour guiding with a qualified and experienced expert
- Insights into Cairngorms rewildling projects
Although this tour is focussed on the Cairngorms, private booking means we have the flexibility to explore other wildlife hotspots too (for example, the Moray coast, Wester Ross or Black Isle). Here, we can find species such as otter, bottlenosed dolphin and perhaps puffin.
Depending on your goals, we can adapt these wildlife tours to different seasons and the changing Cairngorms weather. For example, in clear settled conditions may might search for ptarmigan and dotterel in the mountains. However, windy or showery weather might mean crossbills or divers might give better views. Whatever the circumstances, we’re sure to have a fascinating, memorable day!

Once we described what we wanted to see, you came up with excellent suggestions of how to accomplish our goals. Email and Skype were great ways to communicate and to get to know you before we met in person…we enjoyed being with you.
