Equipment to pack for mtb

Help page with pre-trip advice and links for mountain bikers.

Whether you are booked onto one of our Scottish led MTB rides, or are planning your own journey, it’s worth following a general pretrip checklist so you don’t forget the basics. Next, you will want to travel as light as possible, while at the same time having enough to keep you rolling. Apart from your helmet, you might want other protective gear, plus a lightweight shell jacket, bike spares and food. Check you have enough drink to stay hydrated. Riding shorts are OK, but beware of tick bites and remember UV protection. For shorter routes, spares could simply be left in the vehicle. On longer rides, you might want to carry a small backpack or waist pack. Get more detailed advice below.
